DERMAPEN MICRONEEDING

Dermapen micro-needling is mostly used for treating acne scarring, and can also be used to treat occurring acne. The technique (also known as needle dermabrasion) creates a series of wounds or channels into the dermis. As the skin starts to heal, it releases growth factors and produces collagen, both of which help to decrease acne breakouts. The skin becomes thicker with the creation of new collagen and elastin fibres, so visibly improving skin texture.

Frequently asked questions

How does Dermapen work for acne?
The Dermapen device uses an array of fine needles to pierce the skin to a controlled depth just below the outer layer. As a resurfacing treatment for active acne, the ‘micro-channels’ created by the needles can also be used to deliver vitamin A creams that fight the causes and symptoms of acne.

When will I see results?

Most patients see results within 6 weeks of the first treatment. The full effect will continue to develop over the course of the following 3 months.
